Speaker: Ms. Teresa Ko

Often described as an icon in Hong Kong’s legal sector, Teresa Ko recently concluded a remarkable 37-year career with Freshfields, a global elite law firm, including 32 years as partner and China Chairman, and as founder of the firm’s Asia equity capital markets practice.

A trailblazer, Teresa earned a first-class Master’s degree in law from Jesus College, Cambridge. She has led many pioneering Hong Kong IPOs and M&A transactions, including eight of the ten largest IPOs in Hong Kong. She was the first woman to chair the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s Listing Committee, championing new requirements for board diversity and greater representation of women. She held public appointments with the SFC and the HKMA, served as co-vice chair of the IFRS Foundation.

Teresa is passionate about sustainability and providing growth opportunities for youth and women in Hong Kong. Teresa is a member of the finance and business committee of M+ and, since 2025, a nonexecutive director of Chanel Limited.
